Performance Network Theatre extends "The War Since Eve"

Ann Arbor, MI – Due to great responses from both critics and audiences, Performance Network Theatre will extend its production of “The War Since Eve,” by Michigan playwright, Kim Carney. This World Premiere comedy will now run through February 20.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend

Best show of this weekend was Blue Door at Williamston Theater. This one got a perfect four out of Fordyce. I also loved Fortinbras at Riverwalk in Lansing and was able to catch part of the musical review at Starlight Dinner Theater. This show was the season opener at the Starlight Dinner Theater.

“Sonia Flew” is high flying drama

Rating: 3 out of Fordyce

Sonia Flew is the lastest offering from Perfromance Network Theater in Ann Arbor. This is a dramatic play that takes place in two acts in two separate time periods.

It begins as Sonia learns of her son’s decision to enlist in the military and fight in Afghanistan following 9/11.  As he goes off to war, her memories of being forced to leave Cuba when Castro took power overwhelm her.

"Little Shop of Horrors" is anything but a horror

I was in Ann Arbor on Sunday for the matinee of Little Shop of Horrors. This show is a cute, fun story with a clever plot and some great tunes that have delighted audiences for years. In this new production, the folks at The Performance Network Theater found some clever ways to spice up the show.

“It Came from Mars” Delightful Fun

Rating: 3 out of Fordyce (Very Good)

A clever play making the rounds in Michigan right now is “It Came from Mars.” This is the story of several radio actors, a German sound effects man, and a nervous, yet smart receptionist. They are in the middle of rehearsing a play on October 30, 1938, when they get caught up in the frenzy of the infamous “War of the Worlds Broadcast” by Orson Welles. The first act sets you up to get to know these people and their intense rivalry with Welles, which makes you enjoy Act 2 so much more.
