« Hi, Everybody »

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Common Ground 2010 is in the record books for another year. We have lots of pictures in the photo album at www.MIentertainment.biz, and if you missed any of our live broadcasts from the event, they are available for playback and podcast online.

Thanks to everyone who dropped by and said hello. We loved meeting our listeners and some of the performers, including Root Doctor and Matt Giraud. They all dropped by the big broadcast tent and everyone who came by is now sporting a new MIentertainment T-shirt from Underground Printing.

Special thanks to Burcham Hills, J&K Steamboat, Underground Printing and the MIentertainment, Talk Lansing, and WOAP crews. They made our live broadcasts possible.

We did 30 hours of live radio from Common Ground and another 5 hours of features. I could not do it without the great group of people I am proud to call my colleagues.

Weekend Updates

I enjoyed the show at Williamston Theatre Saturday night. Five Course Love is a delicious delight. I also found the new movie The Sorcerer’s Apprentice a lot of fun. Reviews of both are posted at MIentertainment.biz.

Coming This Week

Wednesday night begins another 5-day run of a show from Lansing Community College. Arabian Nights hits the outdoor stage this week in the LCC amphitheater. More about that show Tuesday night on “MI Afternoon.”

Wednesday night the cast of Wiley and the Hairy Man will be my guests to talk about that new show at Riverwalk Theatre in Lansing. The curtain goes up on this funny tale on Friday Night.

The Flint Youth Theater presents The Neverending Story, beginning July 23. Hear about that show on Tuesday as “MI Afternoon” welcomes the director to our microphone.

Friday night, Owosso Community Players presents High School Musical. We will broadcast live from the Garden Gate Café at Treasures from 3 pm until 6 to preview the play and welcome our new listeners from WOAP 1080 AM. We hope you can drop by to see us. If not, tune in for the fun!  The address is 109 North Washington Street in Owosso.

I plan to make my first trip ever to Water Works Theater in Royal Oak for Two Gentlemen of Verona Saturday night. That show premieres Thursday night. Hear from the director on “MI Afternoon” on Tuesday.

Don’t forget, Annie is still on stage through next weekend at Circle Theater at Aquinas College. The Seafarer has been extended until July 25 at Performance Network in Ann Arbor, and Boeing Boeing continues at The Purple Rose Theater in Chelsea through August 28.

Listen to MIentertainment Radio

“MI Afternoon” is on from 3 pm until 6. I host Michigan’s only daily talk show about art, entertainment, and good things in Great Lakes State. No politics or bad news here!

“Spartan Nation Radio” follows weeknights at 6 pm (ET). Join Hondo Carpenter for three hours of Michigan sports talk that you will thoroughly enjoy.

It is easy to listen. Just go to www.MIentertainment.biz and hit the “Click to Listen” button on the top right, and in Mid Michigan tune in to 1080 AM WOAP. (Hint: If it asks for a player, let the internet find WinAmp and use that.)

Listening on your Droid? Try AORadio.
