« Happy Monday! »

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We were very busy here at MIentertainment.
NO entertainment reporter or theater or music lover can resist the lure of The Phantom of the Opera. Since I fit all three categories, I was in the audience Friday night at Wharton Center in East Lansing for one of the finest shows ever to grace a stage. My review is posted on the Theater Page, and I highly recommend you get one of the few remaining tickets.
New at the Williamston Theater this week is Home: Voices from Families of the Midwest. I caught the show Saturday night and was impressed by another “Voices” show.
Sunday afternoon I was in Northville to catch Southern Comforts at Tipping Point. This show got a perfect Four out of Fordyce. Read my review on the Theater Page and find out why this show was so good.
It wasn’t all theater this weekend. When you live in mid Michigan a trip to the East Lansing Art Festival is almost required by law. The rain stopped and the sun came out, making it a perfect day to walk around. We talked to artists, had some food, and listened to some music. Check out the pictures below.

One of the many artists at the festival, Andy Van Schyndle of Wagalabagala.com, displays his work.
There was a great crowd at the East Lansing Art Festival!
Coming up this week!
No new plays are coming for Memorial Day weekend, but The Late Henry Moss continues on stage from Icarus Falling in Lansing, Our Town is in its last weekend at The Purple Rose in Chelsea, and Little Shop of Horrors has been held over for one last weekend at the Performance Network in Ann Arbor.
Who won at the Box Office this weekend?
Shrek Forever After was number one with $71.3 million. The big green guy pushed Iron Man 2 out of the top slot. IM2 brought in just over $26 million in its third weekend in U.S. theaters.
Robin Hood, Letters to Juliet, and Just Wright rounded out the top five. The week’s only other new film besides Shrek was MacGruber. It finished at number 6.
Coming June 7 to MIentertainment Radio!
Hondo Carpenter talks sports weeknights from 6 until 9.
