Click to play the audio below or download the MP3 at the bottom of this post.

Original Air Date 03/20/10: Join us as we speak with Dr. John Wycoff about the autism epidemic, the controversy surrounding vaccines, whether prevention exists for autism, and the biomedical approach to autism.

Episode Summary:

One of the leaders in the biomedical approach to autism in Michigan, Dr. John Wycoff from the Wycoff Wellness Center in East Lansing, Michigan talks with us about the epidemic of autism in our nation. Last year the incidence of autism in children was 1 in 150.  Now it is between 1 in 80 and 1 and 91.

We always enjoy our conversations with Dr. Wycoff, and this show is one we all need to hear. We discuss the controversy of whether autism is truly an epidemic as well as the 1998 Wakefield study controversy, which was the catalyst for the hypothesis that perhaps vaccines could be a contributor in the disease.

We cover the signs of early autism and the difference between the conventional approach to autism and the biomedical approach. We also discuss what can be done to prevent autism as well as some of the cutting-edge biomedical treatments for autism, including hyperbaric oxygen treatment.  If you or a loved one is impacted by autism, regardless of where it resides on the autism spectrum, you won’t want to miss this show!
