« Get out the Silver Bullet and Shoot “The Wolfman” »

Rating:
1 out of Fordyce (Poor)
Why do I bother to go to remakes? I guess it is because I feel obliged to warn you about such crap. The studio says: “This film is inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror.” Jim says: “Let’s bring a classic movie back and see how many bloody special effects we can put in it without worrying about the plot or the acting.”
In The Wolfman Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother dies. Reunited with his estranged father, played by Anthony Hopkins, he discovers he is from a family with a serious problem with the full moon. The acting here is mediocre. Del Toro is lackluster and the rest of the cast follows suit. Hopkins is the only thing saving this film and even he seems uncomfortable acting out this silly script that uses effects over plot. This film is also badly edited. I suspect the movie was cut with an old rusty scissor the producers found in the river near the castle.
Skip this one. I only give it a paltry one out of Fordyce. Oh, they did leave this open for a sequel. If that occurs I will be taking up a collection to buy silver bullets to use on the producers and the moviegoers stupid enough to buy into more of this drivel.
