« Hi, Everybody! »

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
We started with a MIentertainment sneak preview movie on Thursday night. We all saw Jackass 3-D ahead of its release. We filled the theater, gave away gift bags, and had a great time. Thanks to NCG Cinemas, L & L food centers, Reeves Tire, and Allied Marketing for their help.
Best show of this weekend was Evil Dead: the Musical from the MSU Theater Department. This spoof on those “kids go on spring break to the cottage” flicks was lots of fun. It runs again next weekend.
I also saw Dracula: A Rock Opera at Meadowbrook Theatre. The show was good. The acting, lighting, sets, and special effects were all top notch. The music left me a little cold. I thought it was not at all memorable.
I had a great time Friday evening in Grand Rapids. Thanks to our hosts at the Ramada Inn on 28th Street for being our hosts. We broadcast “MI Afternoon” live from the beautiful indoor pool and met lots of folks who told us lots of good things about that great west Michigan City.
Saturday I drove back from GR to head for Saginaw, where I tagged along with the host of “MI Menagerie.” Kevin Hile was taping his show there. I thoroughly enjoyed this fun little zoo, while Kevin did all the work.
Coming this week:
“MI Afternoon” will be on the road with a “MI Destination” show that will last two days!!!
I am taking “MI Afternoon” on a railroad trip that will take us to two cities over two days, and best of all, you can join me.
“MI Afternoon” will broadcast live, through our Mid Michigan affiliate WOAP, from the Steam Railroading Institute this Friday from 3 until 6 pm.
We will tell you about this historical treasure smack dab in the middle of Michigan and tell you how you can take the train on an autumn tour through a holiday wonderland.
We will also hear from the Owosso Community Players about the mayor’s gala Friday night.
After the show I will head for the already mentioned gala, and after a good night’s sleep I will be up early for the fall color train ride to Alma at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.
You can join me for all of these events!
Join us at the radio show. Admission is free, and you might win tickets to ride the train, passes for the movies, or gifts from area merchants.
To join me at the Gala, go to www.owossoplayers.com for more information. To join me on the train, you can get tickets for the all-day Saturday train ride from Owosso to Alma and back by visiting http://www.michigansteamtrain.com/.
Whether you pick one, two, or all three of these events, I hope to see all of you this Friday and Saturday for a weekend of fun for everyone in Owosso.
