« "K-2" at Performance Network is riveting »
Rating:
K-2 is now on stage at Performance Network in Ann Arbor. It is the story of two men fighting for survival at 27,000 feet. James Bowen and John Michael Manfredi play Harold and Taylor. The play begins as they are stranded on an icy ledge on K2, the world’s most savage mountain. The situation is desperate: their supplies are gone, night is falling, and one climber has a broken leg.
The interaction between the pair is all you see for an hour and forty minutes. The script is well written and well played by these two men. They make you love them a lot, hate them a little, and root for their rescue.
It was almost a perfect play, except a slip up in the beginning reveals a storage space on the stage, which spoiled this a little for me since I knew a stage secret I was not supposed to see. I could also hear someone back stage setting up a prop. But that should not happen again if the cast and crew are careful, so I give this one a very good three out of Fordyce and highly recommend it. K-2 runs through February 7.
